Demographics Online Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) maintains this page to explain what personal information Demographics Online collects and how it is handled.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, chosen billing currency, and sign-in method.
- Usage data — the reports you generate, the locations and catchments you select, and your credit ledger.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe. We store the transaction reference and amount, never your card number.
- Technical logs — error and request logs used to diagnose failures, retained for a limited period.
Why we use it
To create and secure your account, generate and store the reports you pay for, process payments and refunds, provide support, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information and we do not use your report history for advertising.
Who processes it
- Stripe — payment processing, tax calculation and invoicing.
- Supabase — application database, authentication and file storage.
- Mapbox — map rendering and geocoding for location selection.
- GapMaps — demographic data used to build reports.
These providers process data on our instructions. Some are located outside Australia, so your information may be stored or processed overseas.
Security
Access to your account requires authentication, and database access rules restrict each account to its own data. Shared report links are only readable by someone holding the unguessable link, and you can revoke sharing at any time.
Retention and deletion
Reports you archive are permanently purged after 30 days. Account and ledger records are kept while your account is open and afterwards only as long as required for tax and financial record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your display preferences. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or complain about how we have handled it, by emailing privacy@demographicsonline.com.au. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
